Sometimes walk. sometimes talk. maybe Do something.

Walking-painting:talking-poem. Knocking, waiting, rocking Home. I painted this large watercoler & ink piece to show solidarity in spirit/mind with the Japanese people affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami  and the aftereffects. It was entered into a show contest in hopes that it would be seen by thousands and they would be moved by it, and maybe do something to help.  Others are raising money, I wouldn’t know where to start. The painting DID get juried into the show, and it will be seen by probably at least 20,000 people this summer, in California. I wish that they feel some solidarity with the Japanese. Maybe some of them will help somehow. After the show I would like to give the painting to the people Japan. Either through the Rias Ark museum or Miyagi Museum in Japan for permanent collection.

  1. Hey Sean,

Just got your post on my blog – thanks for getting back! I really dig your art – and your thoughtfulness for the Japanese – fantastic stuff.

Sorry that we never got to meet whilst I was in Sac – TBH it wasn’t the best place for me though! Sad to hear that the CI is non-functional but hope that your Chinese studies are progressing well. Let me know if you’re ever in NY!

    Zai jian,

    Myles
